Going to First Fridays in Oakland is a staple in the Bay Area and the organization needs your help!
After 10 years of serving the community and increase in costs, Oakland First Fridays is having trouble staying afloat. Festival coordinator, Greg Harris told ABC 7 that the popular event only has a few months left. "It costs maybe about $45,000 to run a First Friday with all the actual increasing of bills," Harris said, including the high cost of security from the Oakland Police Department.
As of now, the last First Fridays event is expected to take place in October. Donations are being accepted via GoFundMe.
