Berkeley City Council will be voting on a new proposed violation that will give people a $100 fine if they do not wear a mask and maintain social distance. The fine will increase for repeat violators.
This violation comes after UC Berkeley students have been seen in large gatherings outside campus and not taking COVID-19 seriously. Berkeley has been reporting about seven cases of COVID-19 a day.
