Macy's Thanksgiving parade will be different this year due to the coronavirus. It is not cancelled, it will be shown on TV but will not have people marching down the streets of New York. The balloons will not be pulled by people but rather by vehicles.
Performers will be local to avoid travel from other states and are required to wear face masks and maintain social distance.
This year's celebration will shift to a television-only experience while maintaining the spectacle and wonder of this cherished tradition. On Thursday, November 26, from 9AM to noon on NBC, we invite you to watch the Parade’s signature mix of giant character balloons, floats, street performers, clowns and the heralding of the holiday season with the one and only Santa Claus!
