Contra Costa Couple Held Foreign Nanny's Documents And Forced Unfair Labor

INS Demonstrates DataShare System

Contra Costa County couple have been charged with extortion and criminal labor trafficking for hiring a nanny to work in their home. The couple recruited a Nigerian woman to be a nanny for their children after telling her to get a fraudulent visa and passport. When the nanny arrived the couple took her passport and visa then forced her to work. The nanny was forced to sleep on the floor in the children's room, cook for the entire family, and clean their five bedroom house. She was not given any days off and was only paid $150 a month.

Anyone in Contra Costa County who is a victim of labor trafficking can report it to the Human Trafficking Tip Line at 925-957-8658.
