A 15 year old girl, Grace, was sentenced to juvenile detention by a Michigan judge. According to the judge, Grace 'violated probation' for not completing her online school work and is a threat to the community. The executive director of the National Juvenile Justice Network said,
Unless there is an urgent need, I don’t understand why you would be sending a kid to any facility right now and taking them away from their families with all that we are dealing with right now
Grace is now currently at a Children's Village where she will stay until her hearing in September.
