We're celebrating Black History Month by highlighting the Hidden Genius Project!
The Hidden Genius Project, founded in Oakland in 2012, trains and mentors Black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to transform their lives and communities.
They are currently accepting applications for their Intensive Immersion Program, where High School students (9th-11th graders) participate in a 15-month long technical and entrepreneurial training. "We empower our Geniuses to create innovative solutions to community challenges and problems, hone leadership and entrepreneurial skills and pitch business ideas, design their own websites, software, and other technical projects, establish healthy relationships and build trust with peers and mentors." They have program sites across the nation in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta and now Baltimore!
