A new study published by Wallet Hub list America's Happiest Cities to live in.

To identify which of more than 180 of the top U.S. cities is home to the happiest residents in America, WalletHub drew on the many findings of positive-psychology research. They  evaluated each city based on 30 important happiness metrics, ranging from the depression rate to the pace of income-growth rate and the daily average of leisure time. The

Surprisingly, the Bay Area's own Fremont came in #1 on the list with an average score of 76.10 due to it ranking #1 for emotional and physical well-being, and #1 in community & environment. Income & Employment also ranked relatively high at #34.

San Jose also came in #2 on the overall list with an average score of 70.35! The South Bay city ranked #2 for emotional and physical well-being, and #64 in community & environment, yet came in #3 for Income & Employment!

The last Bay Area city to make the top 10 was San Francisco at #5 with an average score of 68.73. San Francisco #4 for emotional and physical well-being, ironically #69 for community & environment (probably due to the homeless crisis), and #8 for Income & Employment!

With all 3 Bay Area cities ranking high in income and employment, it's probably due to the tech jobs here in the bay. Wallet Hub did note that pay over $75,000 did not contribute much more to a persons happiness, so the high paying jobs alone are not the reason for happiness in the Bay. Also, the US ranks 16th on the World Happiness Report. Check out the full list here and the top 20 below!
