According to a flurry of social media posts, DoorDash users were jubilant on Thursday after learning of a glitch that allowed them to receive their purchases for free.
Customers bragged about purchasing expensive tequila, free food, and even birth control. Some people published screenshots of expensive orders that cost several hundreds of dollars. One person claimed to have ordered dozens of extremely expensive tequilas during the glitch and tweeted pictures of them.
Others made fun of customers who made significant purchases without paying by posting memes, speculating that the business will try to get those payments fulfilled.
A spokesman for Doordash acknowledged the glitch and stated that the company was canceling bogus orders.
“On the evening of July 7th DoorDash experienced a payment processing issue, and as a result, some users were able to check out without an authorized form of payment for a short period of time,” a DoorDash told The Post.
“We were subsequently notified that some users were placing fraudulent orders, and we immediately corrected the issue.”
“We’re actively canceling fraudulent orders, and are in touch with merchants impacted to ensure they are compensated for any unauthorized orders they may have received,” Doordash stated.
