Delta Airlines was out here passing out down payments! Reports have surfaced from the holiday weekend that Delta Airlines, whom already faced difficulties fulfilling their flights due to airlines pilots on strike, offered passengers $10,000 to get bumped from oversold flights!
A tec writer for Inc. Magazine, Jason Aten, revealed that passengers departing at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Michigan were offering passengers $10,000 to get eight people to give up their seats. Allegedly, the flight attendant even offered to pay passengers via apple pay saying “‘If you have Apple Pay, you’ll even have the money right now.’”
Aten said “Yes, $10,000 is a lot of money, but it was clearly better than forcing eight people to miss their connections and ruining their plans. The people who volunteered did the math and decided that it was worth it to change their plans because that is a lot of money.”
