The more we learn about the tragic alleged death of 8-year-old Sophia Mason of Hayward, Ca, the circumstances become more heart wrenching.
Sophia has been missing since December.Police arrested Sophia's mother, Samanda Johnson, after she led police to find a child's body inside her boyfriends home in Merced, Ca. Police are now searching for her boyfriend Donte Jackson, who is now on the run in connection to the child's murder.
Sophia's family is now speaking out stating they filed complaints for child neglect and abuse attempting to save Sophia from her allegedly abusive parents. They went on to claim they knew Sophia was being held in a hotel room as her mother was a prostitute. Her family believes this all could have been avoided if CPS had intervened when the family first made reports. They say there were several red flags over the years, countless calls & emails to CPS yet it fell on deaf ears.
Police are still searching for Donte Jackson.
