A radio vet for 13+ years, Fillmoe Mike first came to 106.1 KMEL as a wide-eyed street team member who was eager to learn. Being from the Fillmore District of San Francisco, Mike was known as “Big Mike”, but KMEL already had a guy that used that name. Mike couldn’t think of anything until DJ Tone Def and Rube said, “you know what, we’re going to name you 'Fillmoe Mike' because you’re always repping The Fillmoe and we can tell that you love your hood”. Fillmoe Mike thanks Tone and Rube for giving him that name because he felt that he wasn’t confident enough to name himself, but knows that it works and people react to it.

Going from a street teamer to van driver to on-air talent in just a couple years, Fillmoe Mike quickly established himself as a listener’s favorite for being original and always reminding listeners to “Wash their Backs”.

Fillmoe Mike has done everything in radio except program music. Fillmoe Mike says “I truly have a passion for radio. I love it. I love music”. After leaving KMEL, Fillmoe Mike has also worked with KBLX, Q102, 95.7 the Game, and is now back to KMEL… where it all started.
