The Minnesota police officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright on Sunday has resigned.
Officer Kim Potter says she meant to fire her Taser when she shot and killed the 20-year-old Wright during a traffic stop. The incident sparked another wave of protests in Minneapolis, less than a year after the death of George Floyd last May.
Potter is a 26-year veteran of the Brooklyn Center Police Department. Police Chief Tim Gannon has also stepped down after calling the shooting an "accidental discharge".
