Police say a cigarette butt helped investigators solve a 52 year old murder case in Vermont. The cigarette butt was found near the body of Rita Curran, a 24 year old school teacher who was killed in her apartment in 1971. Thanks to modern day DNA evidence, police have identified the killer, Rita's upstairs neighbor William DeRoos. Makes one wonder, why it took 52 years to do a DNA check..
