BART Officials Want to Stop Charging $6 Excursion Fare to Riders

The Board of Directors for BART, have decided to do away with the $6.40 excursion fare riders are charged to enter and exit a station. If a rider gets on BART he or she has 30 minutes to return to the initial stop without being charged. The majority of riders use Clipper cards to pay for fare. A representative from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission said they are working with Clipper officials on building a better BART Fare system by reprogramming the Clipper Cards. Although BART officials want this fare dropped immediately MTC representatives are aiming to have the updated system by 2024. Check out the full story via KTVU down below.
