The Board of Directors for BART, have decided to do away with the $6.40 excursion fare riders are charged to enter and exit a station. If a rider gets on BART he or she has 30 minutes to return to the initial stop without being charged. The majority of riders use Clipper cards to pay for fare. A representative from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission said they are working with Clipper officials on building a better BART Fare system by reprogramming the Clipper Cards.
