On Thursday, August 6, Disney confirmed a reboot of ‘The Proud Family’ and announced that Keke Palmer will be joining the show as a new character, Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins! Palmer will be playing a 14-year-old activists alongside the original cast members– Kyla Pratt (One on One) as Penny Proud, Paula Jai Parker (Friday) as mom Trudy Proud, Tommy Davidson (In Living Color) as dad Oscar, Jo Marie Payton (Family Matters) as Suga Mama, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby Proud!
