In a new interview with Complex, Lil Yachty revealed that he initially wanted the Drake and DaBaby collab "Oprah's Bank Account" to be a Lizzo collab.
When the music outlet asked how the three of them teamed up for the song, Yachty said "It's so crazy because I originally wanted to put Lizzo on it. I sent it to her, and I don't want to say she didn't like it, because she never got back to me on it, which was cool. I understand people are busy."
As for Drake and DaBaby, both rappers came to the track by chance. Lil Yachty went to one of his meet and greets in Atlanta and they ended up in the studio together. When DaBaby heard "Oprah's Bank Account," Yachty said he thought it was a hit and wanted to jump on it.
"And then I posted a snippet on my finsta. Drake follows my finsta, which is crazy. And he was like, "Yo, this is dope," which blew my mind...Then he [told me to] send it through. I didn't know he was serious, but he got on it."
The existing version of "Oprah's Bank Account" is great but one can't help what wonder what the track would have sounded like with Lizzo on it.
