H.E.R. has been making the Bay Area proud since she released her debut EP in 2017. With critical acclaim, two Grammy awards, and somehow managing to not fall into the looming pitfalls of fame, the Bay Area native can now add "starred alongside Missy Elliott in a Super Bowl commercial" to her list of accomplishments.
The ad features H.E.R. and Elliott performing a hip-hop infused take on the iconic Rolling Stones track "Paint It, Black." H.E.R. sings the main chorus and Missy Elliott adds an original verse in her iconic flow.
Unfortunately, even the extended cut is only a minute long and fans are making noise about making a full version of the cover available to the public. This could actually be something that comes to fruition for fans.
H.E.R. and Elliott spoke to Billboard about their ad last week. When asked if we'd be hearing any more H.E.R./Missy collaborations, the rapper said "I most definitely want to do a record with H.E.R. Or two, or three! I'm a huge fan of hers, like I said I'm always listening to her music. When I stumble across somebody like H.E.R., I most definitely get engulfed in her music."
