Oakland High School Students Lead Non-Profit Organization To Help Community

An Oakland based non-profit led by local high school students is making waves throughout the Bay Area!

Oakland Student Service (OSS) is focused on "bridging the gap between those in need of service and those inspired to serve the community." The leadership team is comprised of 25 students from different high schools in the Bay Area, including: Oakland Tech, Skyline High, Bishop O'Dowd, Head Royce, San Leandro High and Saint Mary's High.

According to The Oaklandside, the group has organized several community driven events. They have organized park cleanups, food drives, hosted college seminars and more. This weekend, OSS will be at the Verdese Carter Reccreation Center in East Oakland to build garden beds, paint equipment and more.
