Being able to work from home and/or work a hybrid schedule was already a major change for most working Americans - and ongoing conversations continue around changing the traditional work week from 5 days to FOUR! If put into place, 3 day weekends every week could become a reality. It's already a reality for the reportedly 33 companies that participated in the 6 month pilot program with employees in the US and internationally. These companies are completing their pilot program and from the research and surveys, the new plan is seeing major success. The results that include less stress and burnout for the employees as well as more productivity and growth for the companies has almost all the decision makers leaning towards keeping the 4 day work week permanent moving forward. The next question is when will more companies see the benefits and start implementing this option or at least testing it out? More results are set to come out in February and in the meantime - one can still hope that a global change from 5 days of work to FOUR can become a reality especially if you take the time to show the research to the person that signs your timesheet! ;0)
