Technology is everywhere today, but only a tiny fraction of students are learning how to create technology. Brothers Code is part of the larger Oakland is Beyond initiative, which is to introduce young people of color to technology in celebration of Computer Science Education Week.
The Hidden Genius Project invites young men and women of color from middle school through college to join their 9th Annual Brothers Code event online on Saturday, December 11th from 10am to 1pm PST. This event is meant to demystify, empower, educate, and expose young people to skills and networks that can guide them to exciting opportunities and careers within the tech sector.
This year’s Brothers Code will be hosted virtually and young people of color from middle through college are invited to learn more about the skills and networks that can guide them to exciting careers within the tech sector. A concurrent program will also be available for adults as well so all are welcome to attend.
