San Francisco's vaccine policy will soon apply to children ages 5+.

Currently in San Francisco, those ages 12+ are required to show proof of vaccination to enter indoor spaces, such as restaurants. With the CDC's approval of the COVID vaccine for children as young as 5 years old, the city's mandate will apply to them no sooner than 8 weeks after the roll out, according to SF GATE.

Health Officer Dr. Susan Philip said in a town hall:

"We definitely want to wait and make sure that children have an opportunity to get vaccinated... there will be a limited time in which there will not be those requirements, but then at some point, 5- to 11-year-olds will also have to show proof of vaccination to access some of those same settings."
