All students in Oakland ages 12+ are now required to get their COVID vaccine.
The city's school board agreed that this was the best option out of three, which included mandating vaccines only for extracurricular activities or doing nothing and waiting for a state-wide mandate, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Those who do not comply by the January 1st deadline will reportedly be transferred to Sojourner Truth Independent Study School and attend classes remotely.
