School officials in Oakland are considering putting a vaccine mandate in place for students 12+. This comes after Los Angeles called for a vaccine mandate for its students on Thursday.
Sam Davis, the Vice President of the Oakland School Board, says officials will discuss a mandate on September 22nd. "73 percent of adolescents in Oakland have at least one shot, which is pretty good. but, you know, pretty good is not good enough," Davis explained.
The president of the San Francisco Unified School District has also considered a vaccine mandate. However, the vaccine rates in San Francisco are reportedly so high, a mandate may not be necessary, according to ABC 7.
