San Francisco has been the most expensive city to rent for almost a decade now. As of this month, New York City won back that honor.
According to SF GATE, Zumper reports that the median rent in San Francisco is $2,800, while New York City's median rent is slightly higher at $2,810. However, a Zumper journalist predicts that San Francisco will be back up again soon.
SF GATE also reports that the drop in SF rent may be because of all the tech workers living outside of the city, as many offices have yet to fully reopen.
