The sigh of relief was heard around the globe as President Biden extended the date for students to start making payments to their hefty students loans. If that's you - just know the freeze will continue through January 31, 2022 and this is said to be the final extension. The pause of repayments of students loans has given folks the space to take care of their families better, live a little more comfortably and catch up on other bills. The announcement was not only rejoiced by students who probably haven't been factoring in that extra bill to their monthly budget, but also to the companies that service the loans aka collect the checks! These companies are most likely relieved because they're processing millions of student loans and they have a lot of work to do to get accounts in order, as many of the student loans are being transferred to new companies. This would have been a messy transition if they would have kept the original date (9/30) in place. So, if you have a student loan in repayment freeze - you now have just over 5 months to get your life right and start planning on how you're going to resume payments come February 1st 2022. On the other hand you have this time to pray or get active in the discussion on student loan forgiveness. Either way enjoy a few breaths of relief... for now.
