Looks like the community will have to wait a bit longer for Oakland's First Fridays to return!

According to the Oakland First Fridays website:

As the pandemic recedes, we are working diligently on bringing First Fridays back. We're currently sorting out a number of challenges (from changes that were made to Telegraph Avenue last year to securing funding to support the relaunch) We will NOT be hosting a July event. We miss you and hope to be back soon!

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the new bike lanes "cut the festival's footprint in half," forcing the organization to limit their vendors. The Oakland police are also reportedly charging the organization $24,000 to provide 45 police officers at each event.
