Being able to fund your own creative projects is a feat in itself, especially if you have a project in mind that is as big and impactful as those we've seen come from Ava Duvernay. She has brought and continues to bring us some amazing productions, but now she's having a 'full circle moment', because she is partnering with Google to launch a huge opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to get an opportunity to receive $500K in funding to create their first feature film. This film grant would help them to create a full length feature as well as provide the creative with a full staff from Ava's distribution, arts and advocacy collective, Array! This will be a life changing award for the fortunate creative - Ava reflects on the budget for her first film being just $50,000- but now she's excited to be able to award another creative with 10 times that!
