Furries To The Rescue: San Jose FurCon Attendees Stop Assault On Woman

San Jose's annual FurCon was bookended with a bit of heroism from a tiger, a pink dinosaur, and a woman in a pink cowboy hat.

Thanks to a video caught by a DJ at the convention, you can see footage of a group of furries banding together to restrain a man who was allegedly assaulting a woman inside her car. According to witness statements to Mercury News, the car came to stop outside of the Marriott hotel, where FurCon 2020 was taking place, and the woman who was driving was heard screaming "Get out! Get out!"

When the man in the passenger seat began hitting the woman driving, reported by Steven Rodriguez and multiple other bystanders, a group of five people - three of which were still in their costumes - managed to yank the man out of the car and restrain him until San Jose police arrived.

It was reported that 22-year-old Demetri Hardnett was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and the woman in the driver's seat was his girlfriend.
