Offset 's first solo album is officially on the way, and his promotion for it is... let's just say, pretty unique.
The Migos rapper — whose album was set to released in December , but was delayed after his wife Cardi B announced their split (it was never confirmed if their break-up was the cause of the delay) — shared a promo video for his soon-to-be released album and its corresponding documentary that featured Cardi giving birth to their now seven-month-old daughter Kulture . "A L B U M & D O C C O M I N G 2/ 22/19," he captioned the 40-second clip on Instagram , Sunday (February 10). The video also showed Offset in the studio, spending time with his older children, performing, and living lavishly.
Offset's post was met with mixed emotions as some praised the rapper for sharing the sweet clip, others slammed him for "exploiting" his wife's delivery for album promo, while many called him out for using the footage only weeks after Cardi announced that they were back together following their nearly two-month split. As fans know, Cardi confirmed that she and Offset are giving their relationship another try late last month. While leaving court, a photog asked her if she's back with the Migos rapper and she simply responded: "We're working things out, baby."
The "Twerk" rapper later opened up about getting back together with Offset, telling People , "It’s a personal thing. I feel like we just really are a very regular couple. We just do regular things. I just feel like: We’re famous … we’re really popular right now — I just don’t know the obsession, like I feel like everything we do is a big deal. Even before the bad scandals, just from the first time they seen us together, it was just like this big crazy deal."
Despite her feelings about keeping her relationship personal, the "Twerk" rapper revealed her thoughts on critics who judge her for getting back together with the Migos rapper despite his alleged cheating. "My relationship — my marriage — is not for them," she said before going into detail about how she's taking things slow with her husband. "I hang out with [Offset], I talk to him every day and we do our thing. It’s just like — to make things perfect … it takes time," she admitted. "You know, f**king and hanging out doesn’t mean that you guys are on like a perfect note, it takes time. It takes time. And it’s a marriage and there’s a child involved and family involved."
"My story with him, I hear so many people that it’s the same," she continued. “I don’t understand why mine is just such a big deal. People are so quick to be like, 'You should just date somebody else,' [but] it’s like, Honey, I’m not like you — I’m famous. I gotta consider who I’m dating, I gotta make sure people will have me for me. And I have a kid. … We are a package. It’s not just Cardi, it’s Cardi and Kulture."
