This year at the at the 90th Academy Awards, it was sure to be an evening of so many people making history, and that rang true with Kobe Bryant being the first NBA player to win an Oscar. He got the award for "Best Animated Short" for his film "Dear Basketball" which has been getting great reviews since it first came out.
When he got up to speak he made a joke and a jab by saying, "as a basketball player we are just supposed to shut up and dribble" which was aimed at the Fox News anchor Laura Ingram who said that to Lebron James for talking about social issues. But Kobe went on to say, "I'm glad we are doing much more than that..."
Congratulations to the Black Mamba!
