Vince McMahon is one of the best promoters to ever live, he took his fathers regional 'Pro Wrestling' promotion & turned it into one of the most watched television & venue spectacles in the world.
In 2001 he took funds and time away from wrestling to create the XFL, a direct competitor to the NFL.
The new league lasted only one season, & then folded.
After 17 years he's bringing it back.... well in theory anyway. Vince announced today the league will be returning in 2020, and he's putting 100 million of his own money into the league that will run independently of any of his WWE business.
