In 1855, a young man named Emmett Till, was 14-years old. It was said that he a young black boy had whistled at a white woman & he was soon after kidnapped, beaten, and shot in the head by a group of of white men.
The men were tried for murder, but an all-white, male jury acquitted them. Right before her death, the woman who claimed Till whistled at her admitted that she lied and the incident never even happened.
Taraji P Henson feels like the story of Emmett Till needs to be told to a new generation & she's using her star power to do it as both a producer / actress.
There's no date on the film's release yet, but it's for sure going to have an impact one when it hits theaters.
