While gentrification is taking over the Bay Area, the SF Board of Supervisors just approved new zoning regulations to protect small businesses in the Latino business and cultural district along 24th Street in the Mission District.
The legislation is intended to help protect smaller, neighborhood-serving businesses and prevent 24th Street from being taken over by larger restaurants and higher-end retailers.
New businesses will need to prove they will help to preserve the neighborhood character, serve local residents & work with local vendors.
