Be extra careful the next time you grab cash from the ATM machine!
According to NBC Bay Area, the Oakland Police Department has seen an increase in ATM robberies at gunpoint.
Officers encourage people withdrawing cash at an ATM machine to make sure the area is well-lit, populated and be alert for suspicious people lurking nearby. They also recommend you put the cash away immediately after using the machine. If someone follows you, call 911.
