A 73-year-old San Jose woman is now facing charges of arson, grand theft, workers compensation, fraud, and filing a false police report. If convicted she could be facing 12 years and four months of prison. She is said to have stolen more than $1 million.

The woman who worked at a Saratoga real estate company set fire to papers and filing cabinets, broke her own nose, and tied herself up. She had allegedly been embezzling money from 2014 to 2019. The woman told police that she had been approached by invaders that attacked her, took off her clothes, blindfolded her, and started a fire. After being released from the hospital from her injuries she filed worker's compensation.
