Five People Arrested For Stealing $1M In Santa Clara County EDD Fraud

Five people are now arrested after stealing over $1 million in California Employment Development Department fraud.

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said,

The stolen personal identification was used to create fictitious profiles in the victims’ names. These fictitious profiles were used to apply for EDD unemployment benefits.

The suspects were found with the following items:

  • stolen motorcycle
  • two handguns
  • a shotgun
  • AR-15 assault rifle parts
  • ammunition
  • illegal narcotics
  • stolen computers
  • stolen mail and personal identification
  • device to create fake credit cards
