Oakland Teen Launches At Home Science Kits for Young Kids

17 year old Ahmed Muhammad from Oakland has started a non profit, Kits Cubed, to help students get their hands on science kits. Muhammad's goal is to give the same access and exposure to science to young kids of color.

He is selling the science kits for $12 each and hopes to eventually give them for free to those who can't pay. The kits include three different bundles.

The bundles include:

  • Electricity and Magnetism: Learn about the fascinating relationship between electricity and magnetism by creating your own electromagnet!
  • Original Experiment Set: Explore the basics of chemical reactions and the foundations of rocketry in this super fun (and a little messy) Build-Your-Own Rocket!
  • Classic Science Bundle:Grow a treat right before your eyes! If you’re looking for something tasty AND informative, Rock Candy is the best of both worlds.
