Oakland City Council Proposing Reallocating $25M From Police Budget

The Oakland City council are considering banning tear gas and holding law enforcement accountable for their misconduct. Councilwoman Nikki Fortunato Bas is proposing reallocating about $25 million from the Oakland police budget and using it for housing and youth programs, as well as mental health services.
