San Francisco Providing Alcohol And Other Items For Homeless At Hotels

Residents are upset after hearing the city of San Francisco will be providing alcohol, marijuana, and methadone for homeless living in hotels. The San Francisco Department of Public Health confirmed on twitter saying taxpayer money is not paying for the items and it is being done to keep them in isolation.

These harm reduction based practices, which are not unique to San Francisco, and are not paid for with taxpayer money, help guests successfully complete isolation and quarantine and have significant individual and public health benefits in the COVID-19 pandemic.
