Dallas Woman Refuses To Close Salon Gets Seven Days In Jail Plus Fine

A Dallas, Texas woman will be spending time in jail for refusing to close her salon during countywide restrictions. The judge offered the salon owner a deal. If she apologized for being selfish, pay a fine, and shut down until the end of the week she would avoid jail time.

The lady was too prideful and disagreed with the judge saying,

if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I am not going to shut the salon.

The judge found the woman guilty of civil and criminal contempt of court. She will have to pay $1,000 for every day her business was open, total of $7,000. Her sentence was seven days for civil violation and seven days for criminal violation.
