Hayward Started Drive Up Testing For Coronavirus

Hayward started their first day of free testing. Firefighters and medical professionals swabbed a total of 207 people. Only people with symptoms were tested, if you did not have a fever or any severe symptoms the person was turned around.

54 of the tests were positive for COVID-19. Confirmed positive cases were shared with the CDC and reported to local public health officials. If you were positive your results will be given to you within six hours or the next day.

Anyone can get tested and no referral from the doctor is needed. In order to get tested you must go through a 2-step screening process. The location of the test in in south Hayward.
