Teen Paralyzed In Richmond Shooting Now Owns Home Thanks To Community Help

A Bay Area family is thankful to the community for rallying together to help them purchase the home they were renting. The community rallied to support the family after their 17-year-old daughter was paralyzed from the waist down. She was shot in September 2019 when gun fire rang out while attending a high-school football game in Richmond. Ashley nearly didn't survive after a stray bullet went thru her lung and lodged into her spine. Ashley was able to survive the ordeal yet returned home to a new world finding she had lost independence of free movement at her home, only being able to move from her bedroom to the bathroom.

With the help of their landlord, local realtors, and hundred who donated to Ashley's GoFundMe, they family was able to purchase the home they were renting for well under market value. They were also able to renovate the home so that it's wheelchair accessible, and even installed a pool in the backyard so Ashley could do her physical therapy.

Major Kudos to everyone who helped get this done for the family.
