We all know once the holiday season hits, it's only a matter of time until we're singing along with Mariah Carey about how all we want for Christmas is you. The song continues to be a huge hit since she dropped it back in '94 and each year she reportedly still brings in about $600K from the song. A songwriter is calling her out and looking to cash in on some of those dollars. The songwriter is not only suing MC but he's also named her writing partner and he says he wrote a song with the same title for his band in the 80's and that although the songs are different, she's still raking in the cash using his title, for which he didn't give permission. He's apparently suing for $20 Million - we'll see how far this gets and whether the songwriter's claims get settled in or outside of a courtroom. Check his song below - the only thing it has in common with the hit we love (vid below) is the title. While we wait for this to play out, you can still get all the inside on production, vocal range, songwriting and more in Mariah Carey's master class. Yup, she's teaching it and giving aspiring artists lots to learn from!
