Video emerged on TikTok showing a Carvana executive announcing they were laying off more than 2500 people via Zoom, approximately 12% of their workforce! The used car "vending machine" company blamed down stock prices of 84% and first quarter losses for the reason. While some conversations were in person, thousands of terminations were via Zoom. Some employees noted the company had police onsite when they delivered the news in person.
