This dude had time today! As shoplifting and smash & grabs continue to occur up and down the state, one Alameda resident took things into his own hands by tackling then body slamming an alleged shoplifter. The suspect was pinned to the ground by the frustrated bystander, and cried for help to a friend nearby in a vehicle. It was only when the friend came to the suspects aid attempting to put the bystander in a headlock, which resulted in the bystander turning his attention to the friend and freeing the shoplifter!
The man said he was tired of the shoplifting he was witnessing. In the video, you can hear him say his shoplifting is affecting me because the "prices are going up."
The man continues to be frustrated because while the incident was caught on camera, the suspects vehicles were captured, police will not press charges and Walgreens also did not seek prosecution. The man was told he could still be charged with assault after tackling the suspect.
