3,000 Cal-Berkeley Freshman May Be Kicked Out Before Classes Start

As a UC Berkeley alumni, this is heart wrenching to hear this is happening students.

An estimated 3,0000 UC Berkeley incoming Freshman may have their enrollment denied or postponed due to the California Supreme Court's decision to refuse or postpone an enrollment cap requested by the university. The issue stems from an ongoing legal battle with a group called Save Berkeley's Neighborhoods, which demanded an increase in housing before the institution increases enrollment.

The group filed a lawsuit against the university over their decision to build faculty housing off campus, claiming the university violated environmental and hard done to the community. They claim the increase in the number of students does unjust harm on the city of Berkeley as the Univerisity has not found a solution to properly house the number of current students.
