Man Spent $11.5 Million On Adult Site After Embezzling From Non-Profit

Ralph Puglisi embezzled at least $12.8 - $15 Million dollars from a nonprofit that he worked at over a course of six years.

According to SF GATE, he reportedly used the money to fund home renovations, paying rent for relatives, traveling, yachts and even a portion of land on the U.S.Virgin Islands. When the nonprofit realized they were missing the money, Puglisi was put on administrative leave and fired a few days later, along with his supervisor and an internal auditor at the organization.

After further investigation, federal authorities discovered that Puglisi had reportedly spent at least $11.5 Million on an adult website. Not only did he make payments to interact with women, but he also flew one woman and her friends out for vacation, spending as much as $43,700.

"As part of his plea agreement, Puglisi agreed to pay back at least $12.8 million that he stole. He faces a prison sentence of up to 20 years when he's sentenced at a later court hearing," SF GATE reports.
