On Wednesday night, stargazers should be able to check out the Perseid Meteor Shower right here in the Bay Area!

The meteor shower will reportedly peak between 11pm Wednesday night and 3am Thursday morning. Those watching the show can expect to see as many as 100 meteors per hour.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle:

The Perseids are active between July 14 and Aug. 24 and peak in mid-August at night during warm conditions, according to NASA. They are created by small pieces of space debris — dust, rocky grains and pebbles — from the Swift-Tuttle comet, which takes 133 years to rotate around the sun once.
