In 2021 we've already seen some major changes and firsts. We got our first woman of color in a major office at the White House as well as the first woman to ever referee a Super Bowl Game. Many Americans are preparing to work from home indefinitely and hybrid work schedules are becoming a norm. These are just a few things we've already seen take place and now that the Senate has unanimously passed a bill to make Juneteenth a Federal holiday and it made its way to President Biden's desk to be signed into law- another major shift has occurred this year to make history! Major companies have already started honoring Juneteenth as a holiday, while it may take others to get the memo, similar to what happened in the 1800s when most slaves weren't informed of their freedom until WELL after the emancipation became a reality!
