37-Year-Old Woman Accused of Killing Friend With Eye Drops

Who knew that eye drops could be deadly! Jessy Kurczewski, 37, with arrested and charged Friday with first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of theft. Police allege Kurczewski defrauded her friend of more than $290,000 before killing her in October 2018.

Originally, police believed the victim died from an overdose after the accused called 911 stating the victim was unresponsive. Police stated the found the victim with "a large amount of crushed medication on her chest and a plate directly to the left of her with a large amount of what appeared to be crushed up medication still on the plate."

In January 2020, police learned that the victim died from a fatal dose of Tetrahydrozoline which is the main ingredient in eye drops, which then prompted police to begin investigating the case as a homicide.
